You might have missed your chance to ever meet a Jawa.
ViralDisney.net is reporting that the characters have been removed from the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and are no longer available for meet-and-greets.
The website is also reporting that Rey could be taking their place in the attraction.
On the latest edition of the Disney Dish podcast, Jim Hill reported that the entire Star Wars Launch Bay area is slated to be removed when the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge section of the park opens in 2019 and will make way for another Pixar expansion when Montropolis from “Monster’s Inc” takes over the Animation Courtyard.
Skipper’s Take: I really love the Launch Bay. It has become a must-do for us at DHS (mainly because there’s nothing else to really do!)…and we enjoy the character experiences with Kylo Ren, Chewbacca and company. If Launch Bay is going to be removed in a couple of years, I really hope they figure out a good, convenient way for us to meet all of our favorite Star Wars characters like the Bay currently provides.
If Rey is coming to the Launch Bay, I’d expect her to be added to the current BB-8 meet-and-greet…and I’d expect the lines to be VERY long.
I would love to see a Rey meet and greet, and I hope they’ll end the autograph ban at Launch Bay with the arrival of Rey. I’ll be pumped to meet her and possibly give her a huge hug, like I did to BB-8
